GET INVOLVED WITH USG-T

USG-T Intern Program
The USG-T Intern Program offers students hands-on experience in leadership, governance, and advocacy within and beyond the Sun Devil community. Interns collaborate and work alongside USG-T Officials, attend meetings, and engage in initiatives and events to develop strong interpersonal, organizational, and professional skills.
The program empowers students to contribute to campus life and the Sun Devil experience. Interns help build a foundation for future leadership by amplifying student voices and serving as a catalyst for change.
Hiring takes place in the Fall for the full academic year.

Intern Program Success Stories

Penda Sisay
Intern Class of 2022
“USG has been more than leadership titles for me—it’s been a space of personal transformation. From stepping in as a first-year intern, two years in the senate, and now leading as the JEDI Director, I’ve found my voice, learned to navigate challenges, and gained the confidence to take my passion for equity and advocacy beyond ASU.”

Jacob Marson
Intern Class of 2022
“The USG Internship Program was one of the most transformational experiences I had at ASU. The people you meet as an intern are the same people you will work with throughout your college journey at ASU. Being an intern gives you the skills to step into leadership roles around campus, whether that is running for Senate, serving as a Director, or getting involved in other organizations. I started as an intern and later served as Director of Civic Engagement and Director of Government Affairs, which helped me grow as a leader and continued my passion for politics and civic engagement. Both of these roles allowed me to grow in the world of politics and civic engagement work, where I now lead a state-wide organization getting young voters out to vote.”

Victoria Yusupova
Intern Class of 2021
“During my time in USG, I served as an intern, director, and ultimately Student Body Vice President. Each of these roles taught me something different about leadership and service. Most importantly, I came to understand that true advocacy is built on careful listening, collaboration, and persistence. Those lessons continue to guide me in law school and in the work I hope to do beyond.”
Involvement Across Campus
We highly encourage you to get involved across campus by joining a student organization. Getting involved not only provides you a community but allows you to grow personally and professionally.
